Advertiser & Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: July 2026
We believe you should always know how a free website pays its bills before you trust what it tells you. This page explains, in plain terms, exactly how Unfiltered Choice makes money — and, just as importantly, how that does not affect what we recommend. This disclosure applies to every page on this Site and is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. Part 255).
How we earn money
Unfiltered Choice is reader-supported. Some of the links on this Site — including links inside reviews, comparison tables, "best of" lists, and calculator results — are affiliate links. If you click one and then sign up for, apply for, or purchase a product, we may earn a commission from that company. This comes at no additional cost to you: you pay the same price, or in some cases benefit from a promotional offer, that you would have received anyway. We do not charge readers for access to any content on this Site.
How our independence works
Affiliate revenue funds our research; it does not buy placement, and it does not buy a better score. Every product we cover is scored against the same published rubric — cost, features, compliance posture, support quality, and time-to-value — regardless of whether that company has a commercial relationship with us. Providers we earn nothing from remain eligible for every ranking and "best of" list we publish, and unpaid providers can and do rank above paid partners when our methodology puts them there. Commercial relationships are never a factor in our scoring algorithm or editorial judgment, and no advertiser is permitted to review, approve, or influence a comparison or ranking before it is published.
How we label affiliate links
In the interest of transparency to both readers and search engines, outbound affiliate links on this Site: are served through our own redirect (URLs beginning with /go/) so they are clearly distinguishable in the page source; carry the rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute, consistent with Google's guidelines for qualifying outbound links; and are disclosed contextually wherever compensation could reasonably affect how you read a page, in addition to this standalone disclosure page.
Editorial content vs. sponsored content
All reviews, comparisons, and rankings on this Site reflect our own independent research, hands-on testing where possible, and genuine editorial opinion. If we ever publish content that a company has paid for placement of (as opposed to a standard affiliate-commission relationship), we will clearly and conspicuously label that specific piece of content as "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" at the top of the page, separate from this general disclosure.
No guarantee of outcome
Rankings, scores, and calculator estimates reflect our methodology and the inputs available to us at the time of publication or that you provide. They are not a guarantee of savings, approval, pricing, or any other outcome with a given provider — always confirm current terms directly with the company before you commit.
