Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Unfiltered Choice, doing business as Unfiltered Choice ("we," "us," "our"), a Claudphic company, collects when you visit or use unfilteredchoice.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. This policy is incorporated into, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the Site, that may include:

• Information you give us directly. Your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter; your name, email, phone number, and message content when you submit a contact, lead, or partnership form.
• Usage and device data. Pages visited, time on page, referring/exit pages, approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), device type, browser type and version, and operating system, collected automatically through analytics tools.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Small files and local storage used to remember preferences (such as light/dark mode), measure traffic, and — for outbound affiliate links — record that a click occurred. See "Cookies & tracking technologies" below.
• Calculator inputs. Figures you enter into our free calculators (for example, spend amounts or loan terms) are processed in your browser to produce an estimate. We do not transmit or store these inputs on our servers.

Cookies & tracking technologies

We and our third-party service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function, such as remembering your theme preference.
• Analytics. We may use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy; you can learn more and opt out of Google Analytics data collection at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Affiliate & conversion tracking. When you click an outbound link served through our redirect (for example, /go/…), we record that a click occurred, and our affiliate partners' own cookies may be set once you land on their site, governed by their own privacy policy.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site function, but the Site will remain accessible without them.

How we use information

We use the information described above to: operate, secure, and improve the Site; send the newsletter you asked for and respond to messages you send us; understand which content and tools are useful so we can prioritize future research; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not use your contact-form or newsletter information for third-party advertising.

Legal basis for processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on: your consent (for example, subscribing to our newsletter); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving a free editorial resource; and, where relevant, compliance with a legal obligation.

Affiliate links & outbound clicks

Some links on the Site are affiliate links served through our own redirect. When you click one, we may record that a click occurred so we can measure which recommendations are useful and pay our editorial research forward — see our Advertiser Disclosure. The destination site may then set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review before you continue.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery, and analytics, under contractual confidentiality obligations; affiliate partners, limited to click/conversion data needed to attribute a referral, once you choose to click through to their site; and authorities, where required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or respond to a valid legal request. If Unfiltered Choice or Claudphic is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Data retention

We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe, and contact-form submissions for as long as needed to respond to and document the inquiry and to meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see "Contact us" below.

Data security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulator as required by applicable law.

International visitors

The Site is operated in the United States and intended primarily for a U.S. business audience. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home jurisdiction.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to: know what personal information we have collected about you and why; request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions; correct inaccurate personal information; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as those terms are broadly defined under California law) — we do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. Other U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including, among others, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas) may have similar rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of personal information. We honor equivalent requests from residents of those states using the same contact process described below, regardless of where you live.

European visitors (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no accepted industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so the Site does not currently respond differently based on a detected Do Not Track signal. You can still control cookies through your browser settings and the opt-out tools described above.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for business owners and operators and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide more prominent notice.
